The Wood, Marble & White team is a powerhouse of talent, and a great example of how a collaborative team creates synergy and quality in their designs.
Leighton, Wood, Marble & White’s owner, has been in the industry for almost 30 years, having started his working life as a carpentry apprentice in the UK. His journey has helped him to develop an indepth knowledge of carpentry, joinery and the full manufacturing process. This practical knowledge, along with his passion and creative flair, ensures that his work is not only beautiful but the attention to detail is second to none. Anyone who has received cabinetry designed by Leighton knows he has an amazing gift — one that allows him to see and create a space that is truly beautiful and functional.
Leighton is a member of the Kitchen and Bathroom Designers Institute and his amazing kitchens and cabinetry designs have won many Building Industry Awards. One project in particular won him the 2017 House of the Year Award from Master Builders Queensland.
Colin reinforces the team’s talent pool. Having recently moved to the Gold Coast from New Zealand, we are very excited that he has joined Wood, Marble & White. With an incredible flair for design — modern being his favourite style — Colin loves creating kitchen and cabinetry masterpieces that have a solid functionality at their core. Colin’s attention to detail is impeccable and his clients are exceptionally well looked after, benefitting from the wealth of knowledge and experience he brings to the table. When asked why he chose design, Colin replied, “I’ve always enjoyed design, architecture and art. Today’s kitchens are no longer just a standard working space within the home, they are an extension of the architecture, which ties the kitchen to the home and also tells a story about the client themselves.”
Wood, Marble & White’s most recent superstar, Chloe, began her design career overseas. As a result, she brings with her a lot of European inspiration and design knowledge, which is evident in her designs. Chloe’s passion and commitment is nothing short of inspiring. She works incredibly hard to ensure that her clients love the spaces she creates for them.
Though only having been designing kitchens since 2017, Chloe has always had a passion for art and design. “When I was travelling through London on my gap year, I fell into a job in a high-end German kitchen showroom and was absolutely in awe of the designers,” explained Chloe, when asked why she chose kitchen design.
“Once I saw what they were doing, I knew that was what I wanted to do for my career. I worked with Nolte Kitchens in Germany and the UK and assisted in opening (designing and propping) a flagship store in Stratford, London, before I returned home.”
Rounding out the design team is Yana. With a professional background in urban design and town planning, Yana has worked as a designer for close to five years. She prefers her current role in design as it affords her the opportunity to work on more personalised projects.
When asked what drew her to design, Yana replied, “I have always been intrigued by design because, through design, you can explore and express a variety of different outcomes in the same environment. I like to explore all options and present the best creation in both layout and design to maximise the potential of the space. I enjoy seeing the transformation, and the client’s satisfaction gives me a great feeling of pride and accomplishment.”
Important as always, Roly the bulldog is at the showroom every day. Though she takes her role as company client liaison officer seriously, it will always be secondary to her naps. Needless to say, she is everyone’s favourite staff member.
With a team this talented and dedicated, it is easy to see why Wood, Marble & White’s designs stand out from the rest.
