Over the last seven years, Designing Interiors have helped thousands of property developers, architects, builders, investors and homeowners to create their dream spaces.
Dawn started Designing Interiors in 2016 after a long-standing passion for property. The team now consists of three passionate and talented designers — Dawn, Madison and Stacey — who have more than 17 years industry knowledge and experience among them and love what they do.
“Most of the clients I work with say they need someone they can trust and someone who is just as passionate and excited as they are about creating the feel, flow and function in their day-to-day environments,” says Dawn Powell, Design Director and Founder of the company.
Dawn completed her studies in Building Design & Interior Design and went on to gain experience in the industry mainly to apply her theoretical knowledge in hands-on experiences.
After working with a custom builder for a while, she set out to establish Designing Interiors as a design company that would simplify the renovating or building process, making it a more pleasant and stress-free experience for their clients and builders alike.
Designing Interiors uses its expertise to support clients through the complex journey of renovating, building or fitting out a commercial space. They guide you through the overwhelming choices you need to make and provide honest, friendly advice. “We strive to keep things simple for a smooth and fun process,” say the designers.
The company works with an extensive number of suppliers to ensure their clients get the most
out of their budget without compromising on quality or aesthetic. In 2021, Designing Interiors won the HIA & IDA Brisbane Kitchen, Bathroom & Interior Design Awards in Queensland for Best New Bathroom of the Year on their design of Project Sutton’s master ensuite. They also walked away with two finalist awards for their interior design of Project Kingfisher.
