Fanco Habitat – Heat Recovery Ventilation decentralised unit with WIFI
The Fanco Habitat Expert is a decentralised heat recovery system that provides a constant source of fresh air to a home, maintaining indoor air quality and retaining its existing heat.
The unit operates in cycles: First, it extracts air through the wall for 70 seconds before switching to an intake mode. On each extraction cycle, the unit retains heat from the outgoing air stream. When it switches to an intake cycle, the heat is transferred to the incoming air.
The Habitat Expert also has a “Ventilation” mode that provides fresh and filtered outdoor air, bypassing the heat exchanger. This can be used to provide a cool breeze in the summertime.

4305 Design chose the Fanco Horizon DC ceiling fan model for not just the sleek lines, but the capacity to create lazy airflow with minimal power usage, the ability to move a huge volume of air at higher speeds still with exceptional energy efficiency, and the blade design reducing the tendency to create wobble. The Smart Remote is a very useful feature that allows occupants much more control over their own environment.
The Fanco Wi-Fi Habitat Expert unit provides constant fresh filtered air into the space while simultaneously extracting stale air which consequently reduces condensation and improves air quality. The sophistication in its design means when the heat recovery mode is on, it uses the warm air being extracted to warm up its core, which then warms the incoming outside colder air up to 93% so that heat loss is significantly minimised. For this project, providing clean air through an automated process was important.
