Since we are in the year 2023, we thought it would be helpful to share some of the top kitchen, bathroom, and laundry design trends in Sydney homes. Please consider these trends as you start to plan your renovation.

Your Kitchen

Trend #1 – Neolith benchtops and splashbacks

Neolith is a porcelain product that is safe for the environment, lightweight, heat resistant, and extremely durable for high traffic areas like busy kitchens. You’ll adore its stunning stone-like appearance despite the fact that it is recyclable. Although it is expensive, this is because it is built to last.

Trend #2 – Colour and texture

Color and texture are in right now, with white out. To add color and texture to your kitchen, see our earlier posts.

Trend #3 – Butler’s Kitchen

When it comes to kitchen design, there is one constant: it should be planned as the home’s main gathering place and entertainment space. However, nobody wants their disorganized prep area and dirty dishes to be on display. It is for this reason that Butler’s Kitchens are still in demand. They serve as a link between participating in the enjoyment and concealing the effort.

Trend #4 – Island benches, where bigger means better

Every time someone enters your house, they still gush over the big island benches. There are a variety of uses for your island bench, and bigger is better if you have the space. Read our blog to learn about the design innovations people are incorporating into their kitchens and island benches.

Your Bathroom

Trend #5 – A resort feel from anywhere in the world

White bathrooms are no longer popular because they can appear too sterile, much like white kitchens. It’s been popular for a while to give your house the feel of a resort. However, as bathrooms increasingly embrace color, we are noticing a lot of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean design influences. Consider exquisitely detailed Moroccan-inspired tile patterns or deep terracotta colors.

Trend #6 – Natural tones and textures

Do not worry if you dislike bright colors and patterns. Taupes, greens, and different tones of grey are popular colors taken from nature. Utilize materials like tiles and vanity tops made of Neolith or marble, shelves with raw wood edges, and rattan accents to complete the look.

Trend #7 – Handmade tiles

Uniquely beautiful handmade tiles bring a sense of harmony to our highly manufactured lives. The peculiarity of the color and size of each individual tile is proving to be their most alluring feature.

Trend #8 – Large showers

Large showers offer the chance to include bench seats, niches to hold shampoo and beauty products, multiple showerheads, and small shelves to facilitate easier leg shaving if you have the space.

Your Laundry

Trend #9 – Luxurious appointments

Even though it works hard, your laundry doesn’t have to look shabby. The same (or similar) materials used in kitchens and bathrooms are actually used in modern laundries. Think about specialized cabinetry, stone or marble benchtops for folding and sorting laundry, and built-in or covert ironing boards.

Trend #10 – Farmhouse sinks

Large farmhouse sinks are the best size for both kitchens and laundries if you think about it. These days, they are available in a wide range of styles that will look great in either modern, traditional, or classic laundry rooms.
