The homeowners needed a modern update to their original ’80s bathroom, so they approached Vance Living with a clear brief. They were after a simple yet highly functional bathroom suitable for their children and their guests alike. The space needed to be practical, with a modern yet timeless design.
The layout the design and build team ultimately settled on is fully functional, yet very aesthetically appealing too. The custom vanity and mirror cabinetry, open shelving and the shower niches provide an abundance of storage solutions. The fully tiled walls and floors create interest, while facilitating easy cleaning. The placement of the wall tiles was a strategic choice; while they command attention, they also highlight the quality tapware as a feature. The custom clear shower screen was built into a niche, creating the illusion of a larger space.
The room gets plenty of natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling window by the bath – which incidentally also facilitates a relaxing ambience for when the bath is in use. As it’s finished with fluted glass, it allows for a private and intimate space.
Modern, tranquil and brimming with functionality, this bathroom is a study in fit-for-purpose yet visually appealing design.
