Contrasting textures are balanced with industrial elements to create a unique, modern bathroom

“Featuring a modern-industrial theme, this bathroom exudes sophistication without sacrificing functionality. As per the owner’s brief, concrete was to be a main design consideration and so concrete-look Atlas titanium tiles were used as flooring.

Matte finishes feature throughout the space, from the white wall tiles and black tapware to the accessories and cabinetry, while the Olden industrial-style tiles on the northern wall provide an abundance of character, with exposed splinters, scratches, holes and traces of paint.

The black tapware pops against this background and makes for an interesting contrast. A custom-built flush-recessed mirrored cabinet with LED strip lighting helps keep the bathroom free of clutter. The cabinet also conceals light switches and power points, enabling the use of corded appliances without the need of having the doors open.

The suspension ceiling lamp adds a pop of colour and perfectly complements the shiny glaze of the basin and toilet suite, bringing the room together. For the finishing touch, in-screed floor heating creates a warm and inviting environment and keeps the area dry and mould free.”
