“The owners were inspired by the chic cafes around their home in St Kilda and wanted to use this design inspiration to update their classic 1970s kitchen to a contemporary space. A variety of different textures and surfaces were used to create a unique kitchen reminiscent of a cafe, with an interesting mix of stone, glass and wood.

These materials complement and contrast with each other to create a visually stunning and distinctive space. The neutral white palette is given a pop of colour with the Starfire glass splashback, adding a modern edge to the rustic timber-look floor tiles. Added cabinetry and bench space provide extra storage and room for meal preparation, while unique accessories inject personality into the kitchen and give it a homely feel. The pressed-metal splashback adds an interesting vintage twist to the otherwise contemporary update.”
