A house that embodied the use of sustainable building methods and materials had to be built in order to fit into the picturesque Lymington landscape.
The building had to be built to take advantage of the views while maintaining the homeowners’ sense of privacy because it was situated in the southern part of Tasmania, a region rich in natural beauty. The emphasis on comfort and the practical layout for access and egress between the lovely gardens and structure provided by this brief enabled the Designful team to create the ideal home for their client.
Due to the importance of sustainability in the construction process and the need for energy efficiency, the design evolved to be one that maximized the sustainable use of water, resources, and materials while minimizing waste, embodied energy, and environmental impact.
Miglas windows offered the ideal assistance in upholding this; the warm wood tones helped to create the cozy, bright interior space, while the exterior aluminum provided the durability to ensure the building stands the test of time. One of the lowest embodied energy window systems on the market, Miglas products are produced using recycled materials and green energy.
The completed building was a model of how environmentally friendly building techniques and comfort can work together flawlessly.
