An award-winning modern-style pool takes centre stage in a NSW Mid North Coast apartment complex
Created as part of a new apartment development in Forster, on the NSW Mid North Coast, this custom curved pool was designed by the builders to be a feature when viewed from the apartments above. Not only is it a striking centrepiece of the apartment complex, it was also recognised as a SPASA NSW/ACT gold winner in the Concrete Commercial Pools up to $250,000 category.
The 12.43m-long pool is a difficult design and was located in sandy conditions that required formwork and expert installation of steel due to the radius. The shape, a modern design with entry steps at each end, was provided by the builder, Hunt Collaborative, while the internal depths and step configuration were provided by Jade Pools.
“We specialise in the family pool by creating the dream and bringing it to life, but in this instance we were approached by the builder as they required a company prepared to travel to Forster (3.5 hours from Sydney) for the build,” explain John and Helen Daniel, owners of Jade Pools.
“We were involved with the apartment complex builder and project manager during the course of the project. Constant communication was key to ensure the pool works were done in a timely manner, while taking into account the build underway for the apartments. Coordination with the builders was required for timing during the construction phase because of the number of workers on site, taking into consideration surrounding properties and the main road access.”
Boasting a stunning Ezarri Sky Blue fully tiled interior, and Nuage Cream porcelain tiles for the paving and coping, it really is no surprise that this custom curved pool project was so highly regarded by the judges in the 2021 SPASA NSW/ACT awards, not to mention the residents and guests of the complex.
