Channel Nine is obviously on the hunt for ratings as this week’s reveal of the master bedroom, ensuite and walk-in robe were split over two nights; however the rooms and the drama didn’t disappoint. This week, the interior of each apartment was finished and with the end in sight, it seems that all of the contestants’ (or a few couples’ in particular) heads have grown slightly over the course of the show.
After their win last week, Chantelle and Steve’s attitude has become exceedingly different to previous weeks. No longer the ‘rookies’, the couples confidence has soared, and so too has their ability to critique the other contestant’s rooms.
With half a point between them, the winning room was between a moody, chic master bedroom with average storage and a bath-less ensuite by Chantelle and Steve, or a unique ‘bath in the bedroom’ design with James Bond-like hidden storage and an enormous, luxurious ensuite by Brad and Dale. As you can probably tell, I have no idea how the two were separated by a measly half a point, however the right team always comes out on top, and for that, Brad and Dale took the crown, as well as $10K cash.
The regular walk-through after judging saw Chantelle and Steve “underwhelmed” with the boys efforts (I beg you to go to our Facebook page and check out the photos of the boys room and judge it for yourself – it’s ridiculously amazing!)
Now into their last week on The Block, it looks like the contestants will be pulling out all the stops on the rooftop terraces, as well as re-do rooms but not without the continuous, “I don’t know how they can afford that”, “it’s so unfair”, “there’s no even playing field” etc, etc… So it looks like it’s shaping up to be a good week!
What do you think of the contestants’ antics? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter.
Look forward to hearing from you fellow Blockheads!
