INVEST IN SOLAR AND MAKE $4000 A YEAR OR MORE

Sustainable Architecture experts The Ecologie Group will conduct a free energy saving seminar in Hornsby this February17th to assist home owners to understand how installing solar power and other energy efficiency tools can actually make them money while also helping them become more climate conscious.

The group’s Eco Architect Gareth Cole has been designing efficient homes, ones that reduce energy demand by up to 90%, for the past 30 years. With the recent heavy focus on climate change he has seen a rise in the number of people interested in reducing their carbon footprint and these individuals have found an added advantage to their efforts.

“People are increasingly energy conscious and looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment,” Mr Cole said. “While people understand that they can reduce their power bills by using solar we are finding that a lot of people are completely unaware that they can in fact turn a profit through these installations.”

“If you have a north facing roof, the government is now offering you a grant to install electric solar panels on the roof, then every year you get a refund (cheque) for the trouble. You help save the planet and make money,” Mr Cole said.

Cole says that people coming along to his February seminar will be given information on a range of energy efficiency options.

“With buzz words such as global warming, carbon trading, ETS and CPRS being thrown around the media it can understandably be too much to grasp for most of us. However, there are relatively simple steps householders can take such as installing better lighting systems which reduce the demand on power and installing solar hot water and solar electricity systems that could reduce power by as much as 90%. All the secrets to climate change housing and how you can make money going solar will be explained at our one hour Seminar at 7:30pm on February 17th at Hornsby Library.”

Cole says that right now in Australia is the best time and place to change how ordinary households use energy. “Australians have access to the best solar systems and devices in the world, the highest levels of sunlight, the most energy efficient lights and the highest federal tariff of any country. We have seen governments come up with offers and then take them back so there is a limited time to take this up.”

The seminar will have information relevant to new or existing homes and will discuss the many opportunities available to householders. For bookings contact Maria Harding at Ecologie Group Architects on 02 9484 5533. Seats are limited.
